The Queensland University of Technology (QUT) consists of three campuses situated in and around the central business district of Brisbane in Queensland. 

QUT is one of Australia's largest universities and warmly welcomes international students. It offers a broad yet specialised technical course base, which ensures that the university enjoys a very successful graduate employment record.

Faculties / Fields of Study

QUT offers a broad range of academic programs from undergraduate to doctoral level in eight faculties:

Built Environment and Engineering
- including Avionics, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Computing Engineering, Architecture and Surveying.

Business
- including E-Business, International Business, Accounting, Management, and Marketing.

Creative Industries
- including Communication Design, Performing and Visual Arts, Journalism, Film & Television Production and Media Studies.

Health - including Nursing and Psychology, Education, Information Technology, Law and Science.

Humanities and Social Sciences
- Courses in Humanities and Social Sciences are also available.

University Diplomas are also available in Information Technology, Business and Professional Communication. These programs are 1 semester (6 months) in duration.

Admission Requirements

There are two main entry requirements for QUT courses:

Academic: consideration is given to the level of study completed in your home country. Each student's academic level will be considered on a case by case basis.

English language: you must have the required English language proficiency level to study your proposed course before you can be admitted. There are two formal tests of English proficiency which are acceptable to QUT. These are an IELTS or TOEFL test. Please contact Australian Consultancy Ltd for further details.

Students who do not initially meet the English language requirements of their chosen course can enrol in the EAP (English Academic Program) at the QUT English language centre. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to continue onto university studies.

Students not meeting the academic pre-requisites of their chosen course can undertake the University Foundation program. Students who successfully complete the 30 or 40 week program are guaranteed entry into their chosen degree course.

Support Services and Facilities

QUT's International Office provides a wide range of specialist support services for students. These include:

  • orientation programs
  • learning skills assistance and seminars
  • individual advice and counselling
  • social, recreational and sporting activities
  • health and counselling, careers and employment, and religious services

QUT offers its courses across three Brisbane campuses - Gardens Point, Kelvin Grove and Carseldine. All campuses offer academic buildings and laboratories, modern library and computing facilities, refectories and clubs, recreation facilities, banking facilities, bookshops, and health, counselling and childcare facilities.

Tuition Fees

Tuition Fees vary depending on the course you wish to undertake. Undergraduate and postgraduate courses range from A$6,000 to A$10,000 per semester.

Scholarships and Grants

Scholarships are limited and highly competitive. QUT has merit prizes for international students. Several prizes are available in each faculty if you have been enrolled for at least one semester. Prizes are credited against your next semester's fees.

QUT has alumni all over Australia and in over 70 countries around the world.

More than 100,000 QUT graduates work in a range of exciting professions throughout Australia and the world.  About 7,000 students graduate from QUT each year. When students graduate, they become members of the QUT Alumni.

The QUT Alumni promotes friendly communication and cooperation among graduates, students, staff and other people interested in the University.
