The general minimum English requirements are IELTS 6.5 (no band score less than 6.0) or TOEFL(paper-based) 580 plus TWE 4.5 or TOEFL (computer-based) 237.

Students who do not initially meet the English language requirements of their chosen course can enrol in RMIT English Worldwide. Upon satisfactory completion of an appropriate English course, students will be able to begin their university studies.

Students not meeting the academic prerequisites of their chosen course can undertake the University Foundation program. Students who successfully complete the 30 or 40 week program are guaranteed entry into their chosen degree course. Foundation streams include: architecture, design & planning, art, design and communication, business, information technology, humanities/communication, science/engineering and health sciences.
