The Australian Government regulates all institutions that offer tuition to international students to ensure that quality and ethical practices are maintained. The Australian Government constantly monitors issues such as curriculum, qualifications of teaching staff and facilities, including specialist equipment. The Australian Government recently surveyed 1100 international students from 63 countries who were studying in Australian institutions. Students who completed the survey reported a high level of satisfaction with their educational experiences in Australia. Over 90% recommended Australia as a study destination. International students were overwhelmingly satisfied with the quality of their institution, and many commented on the quality of computer, library and sporting facilities. 87% said they were satisfied to very satisfied with their lecturers and teaching staff, finding them very helpful and informative. Exchange rate at time of writing is CHF 1.00=AUD $1.12 You are required to demonstrate a sufficient level of English language proficiency and meet minimum academic requirements to enter any of our partner institutions. Australian Consultancy can help you determine whether you will meet the selection criteria set for the course you want to study. When assessing your eligibility for university entry, some of our partner institutions consider a combination of your education and work experience in lieu of a secondary school leaving certificate ("matura"). Those not meeting minimum English language requirements can enrol in the university's on-campus English language school. The English language schools have direct entry exams to determine whether you meet the minimum level of English required. It may also be possible to sit English proficiency exams in our office in Switzerland to determine whether you meet English proficiency requirements.
A Foundation Study Program is an excellent pathway to university study in Australia for Swiss students who have not studied "the matura" or equivalent. Foundation studies provide a bridge for international students between high school studies in their home country and university studies in Australia. Successful completion of the course will mean direct entry into the chosen university bachelor degree course. Often students will study one or two subjects from the Bachelor degree during the Foundation course giving them credit once they begin the Bachelor course. If you do not meet academic requirements, it is possible to enrol in one of the foundation study courses, which are designed to help international students reach the desired university entry level. Pending successful completion of a foundation course, your place in a degree course will be reserved.
Complete the practical work experience or internship component of your current course of study in Australia. You can gain specialised work experience directly aligned to your field of study or current profession by working with reputable Australian companies. You will gain credit towards your degree at your home institution as well as improving your knowledge of the English language and the Australian way of life. |
